Grinding/Tuckpointing

The process of tuckpointing, very simply stated, involves using a grinder to grind or a hammer to chisel the deteriorated mortar joints to a correct depth of 3/4-1 inch, then filling the joints with the appropriate mortar to match existing colors. This is a skilled process, and should be performed by skilled St. Louis tuckpointing  professionals to avoid further damage to your home or building. Many factors from incorrect technique can inflict immediate aesthetic ruin on the masonry structure, others can limit the lifespan of the work performed, and others can even slowly damage the masonry units and structures themselves, resulting in more extensive work in the future.
